In the world of pickup trucks, it is safe to say that Ford reigns supreme. This is, somewhat of a specialty for them. Let's face it, Ford builds engines that are incredibly fitting for monsters such as the 2018 F-150. The latest pickup from Ford is an exceptional vehicle, in every way, and in every sense of the word. This undoubtedly, is why it is highly ranked in the pickup truck league, and has high ratings across the board. There really isn't a fair comparison between the, 2018 F-150 and other competitors. The competition is made even tougher for the 2018 Toyota Tundra. Ford has built an amazing pickup with loads to offer. From immense functionality, to engine size and power, the F-150 really has it all. Sadly for the 2018 Tundra though, it doesn't have any of the necessary tools to have sufficiently equipped it for a battle of this magnitude. The ratings and rankings alone don't even place it anywhere close to the league of the F-150. To be blatantly honest, it would seem that this truck would mostly appeal to seriously loyal Toyota buyers. It simply lacks the appeal and functionality of the Ford and falls terribly short in every area.

Interior

One could easily get lost in time thanks to the absolute sheer comfort of the Ford F-150. It has been instinctively crafted to provide you with a 'mobile office' space, so that you 'never have to leave.'

Cargo

The cargo capacity of the F-150 is rated up there with the best in its class. There is ample cargo room, within the truck itself, as well as ample cargo carrying capacity in its box. Head and leg room has been given great consideration, both at the front, and the rear of the Truck.

Driving Performance

First off, Ford has offered us an array of options with the 2018 F-150. Each and every offering has in some way, beating the Toyota Tundra. Be it, the impressive towing capabilities, or load carrying capacity or the overall standard driving performance. The 2018 Toyota Tundra just cannot keep up. The largely eloquent automatic, ten-speed transmission of the Ford F-150 has added a new and impressive dimension to the driving performance of the pickups. The trucks work as well under pressure, as they do when they aren't running as work horses.

Safety

As far as pickups go, the Ford F -150 has been rated as one of the safest in its league. It offers a large selection of safety enhancements that not only protects you and your loved ones, but your tow load as well. The truck has been given a 5 star rating overall, by the federal testers. Rear inflatable seat belts are just one example of the forward thinking, safety focused technology of the Ford F-150. It comes with auto corrective measures for unnecessary lane crossing, trailer sway and also impending forward crashes.

 Engine

Ford leaves us breathless with an expansive range of options, with brilliant specifications and statistics.

  • This year's 3.3 liter V6 drops two displacements from last year's 3.5 liter engine. Power has not been affected negatively in any way though, which makes this feat, all the more impressive. This base model gets 290 hp and 265 lb - ft of torque. The engine is paired up with an automatic, six-speed transmission, the only 'non- 10-speed transmission' in the 2018 range.
  • There is the more popular 2.7 liter V6, which comes turbocharged, encompassing Ford's EcoBoost technology. This configuration gets you 325 horsepower with 400 pounds - ft - torque.
  • The 5.0 liter, V8 engine has been upgraded from 385 to 395 horsepower, and 387 to 400 pounds per foot of torque.
  • There is a brand new turbodiesel engine that graces the Ford F-150 for the first time. The V6, 3.0 liter engine, pushes a respectable 250 hp, with 440 pounds - ft of torque.
  • The showstopper is the 3.5 liter, turbocharged engine. This V6 offering pushes 375 horsepower, and 440 pounds per ft of insane torque. There is a Raptor edition though, that comes in at 450 and 510 respectably.

A quick look at the 2018 Toyota Tundra, makes bare that they have chosen to make use of V8 engines across the board.

Compare the 4.6-liter engine's 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque, with that of the much smaller 2.7-liter engine of the 2018 Ford F-150, and there isn't a comparison. The Toyota Tundra's 5.7 liter, with 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft torque, again falls short. The Ford's smaller 5.0-liter engine brings with it, 387 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.

If it is a powerful performance that you are after, the 2018 Ford F-150 is the only way to go.
