The new Ford Explorer has gotten numerous performance upgrades. With multiple engine options and trim levels, there’s plenty of options—but many drivers are going for the base model. Why? It’s simple; the base Explorer is powered by a 2.3L twin-turbo four-cylinder that puts out 300 horsepower.

For Sherman drivers, the new Explorer offers efficient performance options. You’ll find a hybrid edition with a V6 engine and an electric motor. However, if horsepower is what you’re after, the Platinum, King Ranch, and ST offer it. For instance, the ST’s 3.0L V6 puts out 400 horsepower.

All new Explorers offer incredible steering and precise handling. If you want an adventure, opt for the ST or the King Ranch with their Terrain Management System features. Sherman drivers love these new Ford models’ powerful acceleration and responsiveness. While RWD is standard, AWD is available, and it’s great for those who want a reliable everyday ride.
