The new Ford F-150 takes toughness to heart with a chassis made of military grade alloys and a frame constructed with high quality steel. This attention to the vehicle’s skeleton provides a sturdy foundation on which to build the rest of the F-150’s components.

Using innovative roll forming technology allows Ford engineers to construct a frame from steel that’s lightweight while also preserving the strength to withstand the kind of force that comes from repeatedly hauling and towing heavy loads. With the tow package and most powerful available engine, the F-150 can tow up to 11,000 pounds.

An aluminum alloy that confers strength while remaining light and rustproof clads the exterior of the vehicle, ready to handle the kind of challenges that come with a fully loaded truck bed. The F-150 can handle a payload of up to 2,200 pounds.
